Salvation Mountain is an obscure place in the Colorado desert of California. It's a great day trip from Los Angeles, CA. Driving straight from LA it's about 3 hours. You can explore the Salton Sea and stop in Palm Springs to spend the night if it's too much time on the road. Remember it's middle of the desert so in summer it can get up to 115 f or 65 c. We're starting in the city of Niland, CA an experience all its own.
